Saint Padre Pio
Padre Pio was a twentieth century mystic and Saint who died in 1968.
On September 20, 1916 the wounds of Christ appeared in his hands and feet with bleeding which gave off the scent of roses. By 1934, the Church accepted Padre Pio’s stigmata as genuine and permitted him greater public ministry.
On June 16, 2002, Pope John Paul II declared Padre Pio to be a Saint.
Saint Padre Pio is reverenced for his holiness, strong sense of charity, and intercession on behalf of a great many devotees. He is the Patron Saint of civil defense volunteers, adolescents, his village of Pietrelcina, stress relief, and relief from January blues.
His famous advice given to so very many people: “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.”
Our Mission
As members of the Passionist Religious Community, our mission is to invite all people to remember the overwhelming love of God revealed to us in the sufferings and death of the Lord Jesus. Above all else, we all need to know and experience the constant and penetrating love of our God for us. We seek to invite everyone to respond to Divine Love with their own deepening love of the Lord.
We seek to provide a restful and special place of faith and devotion for people to spend time in prayer
The Saint Padre Pio Plaza Project
Located on the grounds of Saint Ann’s Monastery and Shrine Basilica, the Padre Pio Plaza is dedicated to the Saint out of reverence for his life of great charity and intercessory prayer.
